Passing Basics

Many Surfaces, one goal.

To improve your pass training, put a name and location on every pass. Prior to making the pass, mentally define to whom and where in his or her vicinity you will pass the ball. You can judge success or failure by whether the ball goes where you want it to.

This training method will create awareness of the granularity of locations to which passes can be delivered, and an ability to choose and place where desired. It will also require you to actually think about the pass in terms of a plan and then execute the plan.

As you progress vary the placement (perhaps alternating between left side middle and right side) and strength. For even more of challenge, do it out loud. Advanced players can use the vertical dimension as well, adding Head, Chest, Thigh, Feet to their calls.
