Close-Quarter Ball Control

Introduction to Close-Quarters Ball Control

Close-quarter techniques are designed to move the ball quickly from point to point in a relatively small space, often as small as 4 feet square, with movements in half-foot increments, left-right, forward and back in order to move around objects (usually feet) to avoid defenders looking to obtain possession.

In-Place Precision

Close-quarters ball control techniques focus on small, fluidly-performed atomic movements, done with controlled precision which efficiently delivers new dribble/pass/shoot options with each iteration.

Confounding Subterfuge

Many times these movements contain an element of misdirection which confounds opponents. For example, where expected movement are straight forward, these techniques up the ante, taking receipt and delivering movement in unexpected directions.
