Make the Right Choices

There's definitely an element of art, mystery and magic to soccer, if I understood correctly why you are here, it was that you are searching for answers to questions about the game. So, you want to know how players become truly Elite soccer players.

The answer is simple. If you want to be elite, the secret to being elite in anything is to create habits that research/discover/identify and acquire/develop the skills and traits necessary to be successful for your desired path, and do so in ways (with the direction, precision and frequency) that that lead you above and beyond average results. And that begins with Choices.

Average or Elite?

If you do what everybody else does, you're going to get the same results everybody else is getting. That's the definition of Average. If you make the same choices, or no choices at all, you WILL be average...or even worse without an extraordinary amount of luck. You can absolutely choose to read this book, set it down and do nothing. You can absolutely choose to go do practice, return home, take your boots off and be done with it. But if you want to be something other than average, you have to make different choices, better choices for you and your goal, than what everybody else makes. For example...

  • Did I do anything to enhance my skills today today or decide to play my favorite game system and hang out with friends?

  • Did I do anything to improve my conditioning or lay around and catch up on videos?

  • Is my diet reasonably appropriate in content and quantity?

  • Have I thought about where I'm deficient and done anything to make notes, research it and create a plan that addresses it?

So ask yourself this question: What choices did you make today? If you kept making those choices, what do think the result will be for your goals? Better? Same? Worse? What choices will you make tomorrow that are different from everybody else?

If you remember this lesson, the elemental lesson, that it all begins with choices, then you are already on a better path.
