Injury Avoidance Tips

Be aggressive, but play cleanly and avoid hard, bone-on-bone contact wherever possible, and avoid unsafe tackling methods (tackling from behind, etc.) to prevent injury to others.

Tackle with proper form to prevent putting undo stress on the knee.

Maintain balance, avoid reaching and stabbing in ways that lead to injury.

Be aware of the vector of incoming tacklers, avoid the contact where possible, minimize where not.

Slide others only as a last resort, with clean (ball-first) technique, avoiding ankles.

Never slide from behind.

Learn to jump, land and roll safely.

As a dribbler "Around and Over" is better than "Through or Under".

Have concern and empathy for those around you.

Practice proper conditioning with rest to prevent fatigued and over-stressed muscles.
